Residential & Support Services, Inc., founded in 1974, is a private non-profit organization that provides residential services and community support to individuals with developmental disabilities including mental retardation, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injuries.
RSS provides a wide variety of services to children and adults in home-based and community settings including: Group Homes, Supervised Living, First In Families, Respite, Personal Assistance, AFL homes (foster care), Community Based Services (CBS),and CAP (Community Alternative Program) funded services such as MR Personal Care Services, Day Habilitation, Supportive Living, and Respite.
Funding sources include: The State of North Carolina, Mecklenburg County Area Mental Health Authority, the Division of Medical Assistance, The Department of Housing and Urban Development, The N.C. Council on Developmental Disabilities, and various foundations, companies and individuals.
